Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible?
The controller for data processing on this website is Trips House Ltd., Spielbudenplatz 13, 20359 Hamburg, Germany (contact: hello@tripshouse.com).
2. What we collect and why
Enquiries and bookings: when you contact us via the form, email, or phone, we process your name, contact details and the content of your enquiry to prepare your quote and, if you book, to fulfil the travel contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep booking records for 6–10 years where tax and travel law requires it.
Newsletter: if you sign up for our deals email, we store your email address until you unsubscribe. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Server log files: our hosting provider stores access logs (IP address, browser, time of access) for 14 days for security and troubleshooting purposes (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. Cookies & tracking
This site uses technically necessary cookies to remember, for example, your newsletter signup state. In addition, with your consent, we set marketing cookies (e.g. Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking) to measure which of our campaigns actually lead to bookings. These only load after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, in line with the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR (DSGVO). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – for us that's the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection (Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit). To exercise any of these, just email us; no forms, no fuss.
5. Online dispute resolution
Consumers can use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. We'd still rather hear from you directly first, though.
